Ireland - Tourist
Information - Disabled Travellers
Ireland's
rolling hills and old buildings can make travel in Ireland difficult
for travellers with special needs. Although all new buildings have
wheel chair access, there is a general lack of ramps, lifts and
wide doors inconvenient. That said there are four free guides for
travellers with disabilities that survey ammenties and provide useful
lists of accessable places:
Dublin: A
Guide for People with Disabilities - Accessibility information
on transportation, toilets, and places of interest.
Accessibility
Survey of Tourist Amenities in Ireland - Listings include accessibility
information on car parks, tourist attractions, castles, churches
and tourist offices.
Accessibility
Survey of Restaurants/Pubs - Listings include a general description
of restaurants, along with accessible features (ramps, toilets and
parking).
Listing of
Accessible Toilets in Ireland - (fact sheet)
