Profile

This town is located 5 hours driving from Dublin and around 50 minutes from the airport in Farranfore, which serves the whole Kerry region. It was founded by Sir William Petty in 1670 and has developed into a tempting destiny for those travellers seeking fantastic views and gourmet restaurants. Its name derives from the Irish word "Neidin", which means "little nest", or also "little cradle": the denomination has to do with the location of the town, nestled between two sets of mountains, those from Cork and those from Kerry.

Within this spectacular panorama, the Kenmare Bay which is placed 20 minutes walking from The Lodge becomes the main attraction. The inn sports a yellow façade and marvellous gardens around it: it was built anew in 1999, and features 4 guestrooms on the ground floor and 7 more upstairs. You will be stunned by the delicate decoration inside, in dark red and spotted with pictures hanging from the walls and chandeliers on the roof. A bed and breakfast service is offered, along with parking spaces.
