By plane:
The nearest Airport to Kenmare is Kerry, situated in Farranfore (at about 50 minutes driving from Kenmare). The Airport of Cork is located at 96 km.
By car:
From Farranfore Airport: turn left for Killarney. At Killarney, follow signs for Cork (N22) in order to pass the town of Killarney. Stay on the N22 through junctions and roundabouts taking the Cork road. Continue along this road and after you see Salmon Leap Farm on the right turn right onto the R569. Continue straight on to Kenmare town.
From Cork: Take the N22 from Cork to Ballincollig , Macroom and into Ballyvourney. When you reach Ballyvourney drive straight through the long main street which is Ballyvourney, and when you arrive to the "Mills Inn" on the right hand side turn left and take the scenic route over the mountains. Instead of turning left you can continue straight on which is a more direct route. Taking the direct route you have to continue straight pass the "Mills Inn" and leave Ballyvourney. Then continue on this road for about 10 km until you come to a left hand turn with a signpost for Kenmare. Turn left here and continue straight for Kenmare passing through Kilgarvan on the way.
By train:
The nearest train station is Killarney, at 32 km from Rockcrest.
By ferry:
The nearest ferry port is Cork, at 96 km from Rockcrest.
By bus:
There are buses from Killarney to Kenmare once a day. |
