Amenities of Ma Dwyer's Guesthouse

Dublin Road, Navan, MEA

Facilities within the Property

Ma Dwyer's offers a bed & breakfast service, but with a particular aim in mind: the management wants you to feel at home, within a familiar atmosphere, and at the same time enjoy the amenities of a high class hotel. The cosy sensation was preserved from the original functionality of the structure as a residence, and even stands out in the sections that were part of the expansion carried out in 2000.

You will dispose of fax and photocopying services (the hotel is usually visited by travellers on business that want to get away from the bustle of Dublin, only 50 kms away), internet access in your room and tea and coffee making facilities. For breakfast, an Irish meal is served every morning: it consists of poached, scrambled and boiled eggs, French toasts, cereals and juices of different flavours. Even though the property has no restaurant of its own, there are plenty of options in downtown Navan. The reception is open 24 hours a day.

Nearby Facilities

Among the attractions found in the nearby surroundings, you must go to Bective Abbey, some ruins placed on the west bank of River Knightsbrook. This temple was one of the first Cistercian houses in Ireland, built in 1150 by Murchad O'Maolsheachlainn, King of Meath. 5 kms far from the inn you will come to the ruins of a hospital founded in the 13th century by the order of the Crutched Friars. On the south bank of the River Boyne, these ruins used to be fireplaces, a chapel featuring a triple-light window and the hospital. If you decide to go for a daily tour to Dublin, you could make a stop at Leixlip, featuring Cooldrinagh House, where May, Samuel Beckett` mother, was born in 1871. Also you can visit Leixlip Castle, Leixlip House and St Catherines Farm Yard.
