I think there was a need for an improvement of the air conditioning system

We were surprised to find that most of the staff were from anywhere but Ireland! (apart from the receptionists/managers) The breakfast staff were all Chinese. ... The hotel is an attractive regency building which has been renovated. However the fire escape facilities were very poor - in fact pretty well non-existent! There was no outside fire escape at all and no emergency ladders in the rooms. Our room was on the thrid floor!
The TV channels provided were very limited - no BBC or ITV and the sound level could not be adequately controlled - some programmes were unwatchable because the volume was too low and could not be increased.
The lack of a restaurant which provided dinner turned out to be a real problem for us as the whole of Dublin closed down after 17.00 on Christmas Eve, until Monday, 27th December, so we had to buy some food and eat this in our room on Christmas Day. However the staff were very helpful and provided us with plates, etc. They also allowed us to keep the food and drink in their fridge overnight. ... None - except to say that we found Dublin to be horrendously expensive - hence my comment about poor value for money. This does not just refer to the hotel but everything about Dublin. ... Negative:
poor fire escape routes
very limited TV channels and bad sound control
cooked breakfast was good but they offered a selection of cheeses as an alternative - we expected some wholesome Irish cheeses but got instead prepacked Dutch, German and Austrian
Positive:
Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable, well-furnished rooms ... Friendly, clean and comfortable but has its limitations as described above.
Above all - expensive!
