Why Ireland?
Ireland is known and loved for its history, landscape, culture and its warm friendly people. Its pristine beaches, wild landscapes and misty valleys have provided inspiration to Ireland's great authors for centuries.
For travellers Ireland is equally inspirational. The Emerald Isle offers a variety of activities, from hill walking to fishing, or golf. There are plenty of simple pleasures to while away the time - casting your rod into a crystal clear lake, watching the sun go down over the Atlantic seaboard or just enjoying the warm hospitality in a typical Irish pub over a pint glass of Guinness.
The capital city Dublin is a vibrant cosmopolitan town with a long history. In recent years Dublin has firmly established itself as one of Europe's top cities. Elegant Georgian architecture sits easily alongside the modern cafés, bars, designer boutiques, and excellent restaurants.
Some say that the real delights of Ireland are to be found in the countryside. Spectacular peninsulas of the south coast of Cork, the tranquil lake of Killarney on the Ring of Kerry, or in County Galway's lonely valleys, sparkling white beaches and wild reaches of Connemara. The Irish landscape is steeped in history, littered with the evidence of ancient Celtic civilisations, Viking invaders, and Norman castles and the Celtic Culture lives on in the language, music and art of the Irish people.
Almost every village has a pub with traditional music where you'll find live performances of Gaelic music. Dine on fabulous food produced in the lush green pastures or fished from the clear oceans - enjoy fresh oysters, rich soups and stews, and home baked bread. So what are you waiting for? There is a wonderful Irish welcome waiting for you - go on and enjoy the craic!
