Using Public Transport
There is a regular Bus Service from Stillorgan to the City Centre from 7am to approximately 11pm. There is a Bus Corridor to the City Centre which means there are no traffic delays. There is also a Bus Service from Dublin Airport to Stillorgan. It is the bus n. 746. Get off at the Stop after Stillorgan Shopping Centre (Stillorgan Park). The nearest Bus stop is beside Bondi Beach Club, when you cross the dual carriageway as you head towards Stillorgan. When coming home get off at the first stop after the Shopping Centre. This will save you having to walk across the dual carriageway. If you would like to take the train (DART) the nearest station is in Blackrock (10-15 minutes walk from here). The DART goes North to Howth and South to Bray and goes approx. every 20 minutes from 7am to 11.30pm. It goes approx. every 5 minutes during peak times. The DART has now been extended to Malahide on the Nortside and Greystones on the South Side.
By Bus (Aircoach) from Dublin Airport
Aircoach leaves the Airport approximately every 20 minutes. There is a stop in Stillorgan Village. Make sure you ask the driver for the Stillorgan destination before getting on bus.
By Car from Dun Laoghaire Car Ferry
After coming off ferry take a right turn. Sign indicates Dublin and all other routes. At traffic lights turn right and continue for approximately 2 km on Coast Road. When you come to T-junction turn left. After about 200 metres turn right. You are now on a dual carriageway. Stay on the left lane. At second traffic lights turn left for Carysfort Avenue. At second set of traffic lights turn right. A sign here indicates Stillorgan. Go straight at roundabout. About 10 metres after roundabout turn left and you will find Askill Bed & Breakfast, 86 Stillorgan Grove - third house on your right.
By Car from Dublin Airport
At exit to Airport take a right and get on the M1 for Dublin.Take the M50 exit and continue all the way to the end. At the end of the M50 stay on the right-hand lane which indicates Sandyford. The first exit is for Rathfarnham, the second is for Dundrum and the third, which you should take, is for Sandyford. After 1 mile there is a sharp bend to the left. Continue on main road. You wil see right exit for Sandyford - keep going straight. Next you will see right exit for Stillorgan (2 miles from M50 exit). Keep going straight. Take next right exit which also indicates Stillorgan (2.2 miles from M50 exit). Keep straight. You will see Stillorgan Shopping Centre on your left-hand side. Go straight across N11 dual carriageway (3.5 miles from M50 exit). You will see a roundabout. Turn right before roundabout and you will find Askill Bed & Breakfast, 86 Stillorgan Grove, third house on your right (3.7 miles from M50 exit).
By Car from Dublin City Centre
From St Stephen's Green get onto Leeson Street. You continue straight until you get onto the N11. Continue until you see the Stillorgan Park Hotel on your left-hand side. Approximately half a kilometre after the Stillorgan Park Hotel you will see a sign indicating R825 for Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock and Carysfort Avenue. Turn left here. You will see a roundabout. Turn right approximately 10 metres before roundabout and you will find Askill Bed & Breakfast, 86 Stillorgan Grove - third house on your right.
By Car from Wicklow
Head for Dublin on N11. Shortly after St John of God's Hospital in Stillorgan you will see a sign for R825 for Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock and Carysfort Avenue. Turn right here. You will see a roundabout. Turn right approximately 10 metres before roundabout and you will find Askill Bed & Breakfast, 86 Stillorgan Grove - third house on your right. |
