The Purcell Family manages the Ardilaun Guesthouse and will make your stay very enjoyable and outstanding, making you feel like at home and as one of the family members. The peach and white façade of the House is beautiful, well painted and fresh, surrounded with a well-kept green garden with trees. The House has won many prizes from recognized tourism and hotels authorities. Among the recognitions, there is the Gulliver Ireland Guesthouse of the Year 2005 and 2004 (in Shannon Region). And it also won the "Irish Tourist Boar merit award" in 2002. |
Breakfast: it is included with the room tariff and is served in the dinning room of the House. This luminous area is decorated with white walls, wooden frames, big windows with green-blue colorful curtains, wooden chairs and tables, and white-blue and clean tablecloths. The space tempts you to sit, relax and enjoy the full home cooked Irish Breakfast, made from fresh ingredients each morning. The Breakfast includes coffee, tea, juice, milk, fresh fruits, eggs, pastries, cereals, among other options. Arrangements can be made for guests with special dietary needs. |
The beautiful private gardens of the Ardilaun House invite to a relaxed nice walk around, bordering the Fergus River. The House hosts a complimentary gym for guests, who could exercise every day in the modern machines. The place is very modern and spacious and has a great River view. Nothing better than running or bicycling watching the calm waters of the Fergus River! There's no excuse for not getting fitted. Sauna: Ardilaun house also has a sauna for a complete relaxation and a rejuvenation of the body and the soul. After doing some exercise try a sauna and you will feel absolutely healthy and in shape, with a huge harmony. |
The newly constructed fishing deck is located at the rear of Ardilaun Guesthouse and is available to guests who may want to relax and fish the River Fergus. Changing facilities and storage are also available on site. The River Fergus with its lakes is one of the main fishing rivers in the west of Ireland. It is well stocked with Salmon, Trout, Pike, Perch, Tench and Rudd. Try and see what you can catch!At the end of the day, you can enjoy a nice warm fire and relax at the Guest Lounge. Many plans for the next day are made right there. The lounge is lively and colorful, with red walls, blue carpet and red-blue comfy couches. |
The reception is decorated with fresh colorful bunches of flowers. It has no elevator, but clean stairs with dark fitted carpet. The English speaking friendly personnel is most happy to help you with all your requests, including tourism advices, excursions, maps and any kind of tips. Internet and fax facilities could be found at the reception as well. The House has a private parking for guests use. The Ardilaun Guesthouse doesn't accept Stag (Bachelor) or Hen (Bachelorette) parties. |

Nearby the Ardilaun House, guests could be delighted and have fun with many other activities and sports, like golfing. Clare plays host to some of the finest courts in Ireland. Within 5 minutes drive from the Ardilaun Guesthouse are the spectacular Woodstock Golf Club and Ennis Golf Club. Within 20 minutes drive is the World famous Lahinch Golf Links and Dromoland Golf Club which is set in the grounds of Dromoland Castle. Other sports that could be practiced nearby are horse riding, swimming pool (Ennis pool is at three minutes from the guesthouse), boating and sailing, other water sports and tennis. Additional activities include scenic walks and hill walking, bicycling, angling, gun sports, the sandy beach, pitch and putt, snooker, and the Forest Park. For the culture lovers, traditional music from Ireland in shows and performances could be enjoyed nearby in Clare. Don't miss Ballyallia Lake and Amenity Park. This beautiful spot has a wonderful walk and relaxation area surrounded by peace and tranquility. And they are just a 3 minute walk from Ardilaun Guesthouse. Just 20 minutes away is Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. This perfect recreation of a medieval castle and village is Ireland's foremost tourist attraction. At night the castle comes alive to the sound of singing as the castle hosts its famous banquets. Guests are invited to dress up in period costume and join in the merriment as they eat in the banquet hall as in days gone by. The Burren is an ancient burial ground from the Stone Age situated in the heart of the Burren. Archaeologists still marvel at how the large stone on top was placed there. One of the most common images associated with Ireland, this attraction is only 30 minutes away from the Ardilaun Guesthouse. |
