has devoted more square acreage to golf than any other country in the world. The
rolling green hills of the Emerald Isle are home to nearly 400 courses of staggering
variety yet consistent quality. The famous Irish hospitality and reasonable green
fees makes Ireland a veritable mecca for golfers of all levels from around the
world.
Ireland
hosts five International golfing events each year; the Smurfit European Open,
Murphy's Irish Open, West of Ireland Open, AIB Seniors Open, and The Ladies Irish
Open.
When
to go
The
Irish golfing season starts in April and runs to mid-October however links courses
can be played throughout the year. The best weather is during May and September
when clearer skies and moderate temperatures make for ideal conditions.
